A backup is only as good as your ability to use it. We help you document and test your recovery process so there are no surprises when you actually need it.
- Recovery time objective (RTO) planning
- Documented restore procedures
- Scheduled backup health checks
- Regular restore testing
Backup Health Monitoring via the Strikey's Computers Portal
Managed backup clients can see backup job status, last successful run, and storage usage directly in the Strikey's Computers portal — no logging into a separate dashboard.
Frequently Asked Questions
Doesn't Microsoft 365 already back up my data?
No. Microsoft keeps your data available but does not provide point-in-time backup. If you delete a file, it's gone after the recycle bin period. If ransomware encrypts your OneDrive, the encrypted versions sync and overwrite your data. Proper M365 backup is essential.
How often are backups taken?
Depending on your plan, backups can run continuously, hourly, or daily. For most businesses, daily backups of files and M365 data are sufficient. For servers running databases or critical line-of-business applications, we'd recommend more frequent backup intervals.
How quickly can we recover if something goes wrong?
Recovery time depends on what needs restoring. Individual files can often be recovered in minutes. A full server restore typically takes 30 minutes to a few hours depending on size and infrastructure. We design your backup strategy around a realistic recovery time objective.
Where is the backup data stored?
We use UK-based cloud storage by default. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. For businesses with specific compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001), we can discuss storage location and retention policies.
Can you take over our existing backup setup?
Yes. We can assess your current backup, identify any gaps, and either optimise what you have or migrate you to a better solution — whichever makes more sense.
When did you last test your backups?
Get a backup assessment and make sure your data is actually protected — before you need it.
