Strikey's Computers wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built over twenty years of taking computers apart, putting them back together, and watching businesses struggle with IT that should be simple.
How we got here
The Spark
It started with my grandparents' old Windows 3.0 machine, then a school-gifted Windows XP PC. While other kids played games, I wanted to know what was inside. I broke it. A lot. Then figured out how to fix it.
First Build
Volunteering at the village computer shop turned into something real when my step-father's friend trusted me to build a PC for his son. A teenager on pocket money. That was build number one. I've lost count since.
Making It Official
Left school in 2008. Completed Level 2 in IT in 2009, Level 3 in 2011. The qualifications put a name to what I'd already been doing for years. The instinct to take things apart and make them work better came long before any classroom.
Strikey's Computers: First Attempt
Key momentMade it official. Registered the business and started taking it seriously. The name, the idea, the ambition were all there. Then life had other plans.
A Detour Worth Taking
Before Strikey's Computers had properly found its feet, a business came knocking with a full-time contract. I stepped in as IT Technician at an architects, building consultancy, and interior designers firm. I've been there ever since.
The Real Education
Nine years inside a business watching the same frustrations play out every day. Juggling multiple software vendors, renewing licences from different portals, managing it all on a spreadsheet, never quite knowing if you're getting a fair price. That frustration didn't go away. It became the plan.
Back for Good
Key momentStrikey's Computers relaunched with a clear focus: help businesses get their IT sorted without the chaos. One portal. One invoice. One team who actually gets it, because they've lived it. And while the direction of the business has shifted toward supporting companies, custom PC builds haven't gone anywhere. It's what got us here, and it always will be part of what we do.
